Extraordinarily powerful and flexible controllers manufactured in the USA by Control Technology Corporation in Hopkinton Massachusetts, this PLC is currently a legacy product. Quickstep programming environment is needed to program this device; not included. CPU, Backplane, power supply and cards are broken down. Backplanes may be washed if needed.
All modules are cleaned and inspected and tested. Test IO cards with actual loads. Real switches, relays and loads are used to exercise IO cards. Real servos and Steppers verify motion control.
IO is verified by monitoring the CPU, not just by watching the flashing lights. Replace missing screws, slot blanks, connectors. Used PLCs often have missing mechanical parts. Factory screws and blanks are installed, with broken screws removed and damaged threaded holes retapped.All external connectors are cleaned of broken hookup wire or replaced. Many used PLCs are removed from service with lots of force.
Connector pins get bent or broken, and need to be serviced. Inserting a connector into a socket with bent pins can be a disaster.
Pins can also be pushed so they do not make contact. Pins are straightened or the connector replaced. Real time clock is checked, non volatile memory erased and flash is erased. Reassembly with components that fit the customer order.
CPU, Backplane, Power Supply and cards are assembled into the customer configuration. The plc is powered up, voltage checked. Replacement with a fresh Sony. The customer will usually see a ripple pattern on installed digital IO outputs when initially powered up.
